It is expected that there will be numerous traffic jams around the Ostravar Arena during the championship. It may happen that in extreme cases fans may miss the start of the match due to the less than ideal traffic situation.

"We would like to ask all hockey fans to use public transport as much as possible, which will run at shorter intervals on match days, and not to try to drive to the arena, where queues can be expected," explained Vlastimil Bijota, head of the transport department of the Ostrava organising committee.

The risk of increased traffic complications during the Championships in Ostrava is really considerable. Moreover, the city is not used to extra heavy traffic. The journey from the Dubina Terminal area to the stadium is not difficult. There is a tram stop right next to the parking area. These will be running in increased numbers especially during the championship. In addition, there is a direct tram line from Terminal Dubina to the arena with the number 12. The route of about 5 kilometres can be completed in a solid 13 minutes.
